My Thoughts:
It's a very thick and heavy bible, so if you want something compact and lightweight this is probably not for you, but I really like the artistic verses in every book. They highlight a key verse and illustrate it to make it more eye catching. I also like that they provide a guideline to read through the bible in a year, if you choose to do so. I think it offers a lot to someone looking for a little bit of everything in one Bible. It's not just a study bible, or a read in a year bible, but also appealing to read through. Great gift idea!!!

I was particularly interested in the gifts for book lovers, like the "Novel Teas," which combines two loves of mine: books and tea! Each tea bag has a quote from a famous novel. GIFT IDEA: Homedics Shiatsu Air Pro Foot Massager with Heat

I know in our family, the guys are the hardest to buy gifts for, which is why I was glad to check out a product I think that men and women would both enjoy, so it would make a great gift for anyone! Keep reading for my husband's thoughts on this homedics foot massager...

After a long day on my feet, I look forward to coming home and kicking my feet up…or shall I say having my feet pampered?  I have tried other foot massagers in the past and found that they had one thing in common; the kneading action was either not deep enough or too deep to the point of painful.  

The Homedics Shiatsu Air Pro Foot Massager with Heat delivers on the fact that it not only offers deep kneading, but it is also incorporates air compression and heat when selected.  The kneading and air compression each have three different settings to meet the needs of each individual.  In addition, the unit is lightweight and can easily be moved.  The description does indicate that the massager offers a full coverage experience – heel to toe and top to bottom.  This is an area where I would have to disagree.  The massager never reached my heel.  I do have a size 12 foot for those who are wondering.  I tried shifting my foot around; however, the massager failed to reach my heel.  

Overall, I am satisfied with this product and feel that it does the job.  I would give it 7 out of 10 stars due to the limited coverage.

These scissors are sharp!  I used them in the garden last week while I was pruning bushes and flowers.  They were easy to use, did not stick (like my other clippers) and clearly not made of cheap materials. They fit comfortably in my hand and the bright color made them stand out in the grass.  When in the garden, I feel like I am always on a hunt to find random garden tools I left somewhere. I was not only impressed by the weight and quality of these scissors, but also the many functions it serves. 

Solosso Custom Dress Shirts

From start to finish, Solosso puts thought into every step.  I had the chance to design a custom made shirt from scratch.  Designing the shirt was really easy and pictures/descriptions on the website definitely helped.  I am not going to lie, there was some terminology that I had never heard of, but with the click of a button, Solosso made it easy to understand in layman's terms. 

I (my husband) was most worried about getting the exact measurements, so what I did was use a shirt I already had and entered those exact measurements online. It did take some time, but was well worth it.  You know what they say about measuring twice and cutting once.  For those who do not wish to worry about measurements, Solosso gives you the opportunity to send in one of your fitted shirts and match your custom made shirt to those specifications. 

When it comes to quality, Solosso has got you covered.  They use the finest fabrics, stainless steel collar stays and mother of pearl buttons.  I was really impressed with how crisp the shirt felt and how delicately packaged it arrived in the mail.  One thing the consumer cannot control is the choice of buttons. Solosso uses traditional mother of pearl buttons, instead of plastic buttons.  I do like the buttons; however, the back of one of them arrived cracked. Solosso does include an extra button on the inside lining of the shirt, like other manufacturers.  

Overall, this shirt is a great fit and I feel really confident wearing it to formal and informal events.  I chose to have my shirt monogrammed, which I feel adds that special touch you cannot find just anywhere.  My one recommendation is to include cleaning instructions inside of the shirt.

Hi-Tec Ozark 200 Insulated Waterproof Boots

Hi-Tec has some really great products. I've had a chance to try their women's boots and really loved them. They kept my feet warm and dry while still looking cute. Recently we had a chance to try out their men's boots. Hi-Tec was kind enough to send us a pair of men's Hi-Tec Ozark 200 Insulated Waterproof Boots. My husband wore them out to run errands on a cold, messy day and here were his list of pro's and con's:

Pros:

Kept my feet warm and dry

Good stability on icy surfaces

Made of durable materials

Cons:

Shoelaces would not stay tied unless double knotted

Had intense pain/pressure around my left ankle (despite wearing boot socks and loosening the shoelaces)

Unfortunately they became too uncomfortable he had to cut his errand running short. He was in such pain from only wearing them a few hours. Perhaps these aren't meant for running around, only for shoveling the drive way, but boots should be able to keep your feet warm and be comfortable, and unfortunately these missed that mark.

The other Hi-Tec products we have tried have been AMAZING, so this is the first product that has been less than amazing for us.

I think this is such a great idea. I can't even remember how many times I'd be at youth group and we'd be playing a game of frisbee outside and it would be cut short by the setting sun. This invention would have been perfect to have back then. I think it's perfect for families that like to stay active, and want to continue playing past dark.

Holiday Gift Idea: Capresso Espresso/Capuccino Machine

I recently had the chance to review the Capresso 4-cup Espresso/Cappuccino Machine. I found the machine very easy to use, even for the directionally challenged individual. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros
1) The machine has clearly marked pictures to assist the user
2) Do not have to worry about dealing with buttons and other forms of modern technology, sometimes simplicity is a good thing
3) Does not take up a lot of counter space
4) The steam pipe folds into the machine

Cons
1) The steam knob is on the side of the machine, would be helpful if located closer to the front

2) Cannot tell how much water is remaining in machine

Overall, I am satisfied with this product. It is simple, yet gets the job done. It is definitely worth the value, when compared to other cappuccino machines on the market.

SPANX for Men

Obviously, as a woman, I was not able to review the Spanx products for men, to my husband offered to do so and here are his thoughts:

I'll be honest, when I first tried on the Spanx products, my first thought was, "How am I going to breath in these?"  It definitely took some getting used to and putting the undershirt on and off my body was quite a challenge.  After wearing my Spanx all day, I found myself forgetting I was actually wearing them.  I not only felt comfortable as the day progressed, but also actually liked having the compression on my body.  It felt therapeutic and definitely increased my confidence.  Speaking of therapeutic, I work with the autistic population and feel these would be great for those individuals that benefit from deep pressure and weighted vests.  I tend to wear clothes from Express, which are fitted, and I often find myself "sucking it in" during the day.  While wearing my Spanx, there was no need to take those deep breaths.  The compression and mesh zones are all in the right spots, to avoid perspiring and allow for comfort all day.  Spanx products are made of high quality, and the price is on the higher end, but it is nice to have these products as part of your wardrobe, especially when you want that athletic-look you had in your twenties.
