Kinesys Suntan Lotion

KINeSYS is a company that produces great spray-on sun care products. KINeSYS true performance sunscreen provides photo-stable broad spectrum protection and is easy to apply before and during any activity. It does not require messy rubbing and dries quickly without oily residue to hinder grip or comfort. It withstands vigorous activity and allows skin pores to breathe normally.

KINeSYS was founded on the principles of the Three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle. Their bottles are 100% recyclable High Density Polyethylene (Bisphenol-A free). They shun excess packaging whenever possible and when necessary use cardboard that is a minimum of 40% post-consumer recycled board. They do not use ingredients that accumulate in the body or the environment and print using vegetable-based inks when available. They source locally as much as possible to reduce fuel use. Finally, they love the planet and for that reason alone don’t test on animals.

One of the things that I really appreciated about their sunscreen was that irritants such as oil, alcohol, PABA and preservatives have been replaced with more sophisticated ingredients. While my husband and I were in Mexico we went to a natural marina, and weren't permitted to use any of the cream suntan lotions with harmful chemicals, but we were able to use KINeSYS spray suntan lotion, which ended up saving us from a potentially terrible sunburn. Kinesys offers a nice even sunscreen application that you spray on. It dries in 2 to 3 minutes, no rubbing required! It worked out wonderfully...we didn't burn at all while we were out at the outdoor marina all day in the hot sun.

Here are a few tips to keep protected and safe:

Time of day
The sun's rays are most powerful and can harm your skin particularly from 11 am to 4 pm. Try to SCHEDULE your sporting activities or training before 11 am or after 4 pm if possible. Since people watching sport are often out in the sun longer than athletes and through parts of the day when the sun is strongest, extra PRECAUTION should be taken.

Shade
SEEK SHADE from trees, awnings or buildings wherever possible. If there is little shade at a sporting event, bring your own shade such as an umbrella or portable tent. Ask your club committee to consider building a shade structure or planting shade trees.

ClothingWear CLOTHING that covers as much of your skin as possible. Choose materials that are light and cool, such as cotton or lightweight synthetics. Shirts with collars help protect your neck. Wear a wide brimmed or legionnaire-style HAT (with a back flap). Baseball caps don't protect the ears or the vulnerable neck area. Don't forget SUNGLASSES . 100% UV protection, wraparounds are best.

Sunscreen
Apply a broad spectrum, SPF 15 or higher SUNSCREEN 15 to 30 minutes before going out. Reapply sunscreen to exposed sites 15 to 30 minutes after sun exposure begins and then every two hours, especially after vigorous activity or sweating. Don't forget to use an SPF 15 or higher LIP BALM . Choose a waterproof or sweat proof sunscreen if you are in the water or will be sweating. Some "sport" sunscreens are now available and work well.
