Adoption Update

As many of you may have read, my husband and I were matched with a birth mom and her son who was due March 18th, 2012, so I wanted to give you an update, seeing as it will be April tomorrow.

The birth mom was induced on February 29th and delivered in the afternoon of 2/29, making him a leap day baby! On March 1st we got a phone call that the mom was having a hard time making up her mind on keeping her son or putting him up for decision. It's a tough decision no matter what the circumstance, so she asked for some time to make up her mind. On March 3rd he was released from the hospital and the birth mom took him home.

As of Thursday he was one month old, and the birth mom was not returning any of the agency's calls, so we have assumed that she is keeping him, and we are now moving on with our lives and waiting for the next little one to come our way.

Thank you for everyone who was praying for our adoption and supporting us along the way. We are now praying for the next birth mom and baby that God has for us.

  1. you ever think of foster care,,your rate of adoption is higher an its all paid for by the state,,just thought Id tell you about that option,,we adopted thru foster care but it was a older child(which is what we requested)but we turned down a 3 month old,an she was adopted by the single lady that took her in when we declined,,we were too old too take on a infant an explained that we knew too many young ppl that wanted infants,,,good luck
