Walnut Street Theater Presents The King & I

THE KING AND I has captured the hearts of millions with its charming story of the British governess brought into the court of Siam to tutor the King's many children. Once within the splendor of the Royal Palace, Anna and the King grow to understand one another and learn about each other's cultures. This unique love story is told with a glorious score, including "Getting to Know You," "I Whistle a Happy Tune," "Hello Young Lovers" and the unforgettable "Shall We Dance."

Since I can remember The King And I has been one of my favorite movies. My mom introduced my sister and I to musicals at a young age, and I never grew out of love with them, thankfully.

The king is this tough ruler that everyone fears, and Anna is a sweet teacher who has no idea what she is getting herself into. I love the dynamic between Anna and the king, and the entire story line. Walnut Street Theater did an excellent job with this show, and I would strongly encourage you to go see it!
