Romance/Getaway Series - Lewes, DE

Hotel Blue is redefining luxury in historic Lewes. "Blue" is an inspired fusion of coastal Victorian, contemporary design and first class amenities. Sixteen suites and rooms offering lush surroundings with a modern twist.
With original art by local artists, ice buckets that change colors, sinks that glow and mirrors that come alive, whimsy and surprise abound in Delaware’s first 'Boutique' Hotel.

Hotel Amenities

•Rooftop pool and lounge

•Fireplaces in each guest room

•Private balconies

•Complimentary wireless access

•Location, location, location

•Complimentary cappuccino, espresso, coffee, tea in lobby

•Fitness room

•Complimentary on-site parking

This Hotel had some really unique features, like the glowing sinks. Their bathroom sinks have this iridescent shine to them, and are back lit by blue lights, so they glow at night. I realize it's a seemingly small feature, but I was mesmerized by these. They also had an ice bucket in each room that holds a charge and changes colors. These items are what sets one hotel apart from the others - the special touches! We had a delightful stay, and would definitely suggest this to friends/family/blog readers.

What is there to do in Lewes you might wonder . . .
1. The Outlets (which we did major damage at) - they are nearby, and a quick drive
2. Fishing/Boating
3. Beaches
4. Many restaurants
5. The Town

While we were in the area we decided to stop at King's Ice Cream. King's Ice Cream opened in 1972 in Milton DE, and now has 2 locations (Milton & Lewes). The ice cream, yogurts, and ices are manufactured in Milton, Delaware, one scrumptious batch at a time. Both locations in Milton and Lewes, delight customers with a multitude of desserts, from cones to shakes to sundaes to half gallons for take home.
