Romance/Getaway Series - Rachel's Cafe & Creperie

Some people travel to Lancaster for it's Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch attractions, some for the outlet shopping, and others come to experience the heart of the city, which is what I had a chance to do a few weeks back.
In the heart of the town of Lancaster is a quaint restaurant called Rachel's Cafe & Creperie, where almost all of their menu is French Crepes or a modern twist on the French Crepe. Being a huge fan of anything French inspired this was right up my alley.

While there I tried the "make your own crepe" with turkey, mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese and it was delicious. If you are thinking that a crepe couldn't possible fill you up, think again. The portions are very large, and the food is wrapped in a way that makes eating it a piece of cake. Normally crepes would fall apart, but Rachel and her staff thought about the presentation and making this easiest for the customers, which is greatly appreciated.

My entree crepe was delicious and filling, but I was dying to try one of their dessert crepes so I ordered the Fresh Fruit Ice Cream Crepe which is Vanilla Frozen Yogurt, Strawberry Marmalade, Fresh Seasonal Berries and Whipped Cream all wrapped up in a crepe. Although I was unable to finish the entire thing, it was delicious!

Offering both indoor and outdoor seating this is the ideal place to eat when you want to enjoy the beautiful weather, city and great food all at once. I give it 5 stars!

  2. I have been there. It is a great little hole in the wall. Service was a little on the slow side, but well worth the wait. Great post!
