Romance/Getaway Series - Atherton Hotel

The Atherton Hotel, located in the heart of downtown State College, offers a unique lodging experience. You can enjoy the convenience of walking to any downtown shops or restaurants plus any Penn State University campus landmarks, sporting events or concerts. Nestled in the heart of beautiful Central Pennsylvania, The Atherton Hotel is a luxury hotel that is truly one of a kind! They offer Deluxe Standard Rooms as well as elegant and spacious Jacuzzi Suites, all of which can be reserved as Special Packages allowing you to fully enjoy everything The Atherton Hotel has to offer.
I had a chance to stay at the Athertone Hotel and I was very pleased with my experience. Not only do they have a parking garage which makes this a very convenient place to stay, but they also have a restaurant in the hotel, which makes dining a breeze. If you are looking for a bit more adventure, then it's only steps away to the next closest restaurant or bistro. While in the area I had a chance to try breakfast at the Tarragon Restaurant, located in the hotel, and it was delicious and reasonable priced. I also took a stroll around downtown Penn State and visited some cute boutiques, jewelry shops such as Kranich's, Spat's Cafe (review coming soon), and the Berkey/Penn State creamery! This is a "must" for any ice cream lover. The town is adorable, and the hotel has a very luxurious feel with a location that cannot be beat!
