Funding Our Adoption

My husband and I are adopting a baby from the US and it's a very costly process, so if you or anyone you know is willing to help, we would greatly appreciate it! To Donate by Check: Any checks should be made out to International CARE, Inc. and mailed to: I CARE PO BOX 1603 Bel Air, Maryland 21014 NOTE: Please DO NOT write our name in the memo line as the IRS does not like that. Just enclose a brief note with Melinda & Sean on it. To Pay by Credit Card/Paypal: Go to to http://www.intlcare.org/ and go to the Helping Us page. Specify in the note section that the donation is for Sean and Melinda's adoption. Any amount helps. Thank you!

The Original Water Alarm is the early warning for leaky pipes, faulty water heaters, dishwashers and washing machines. Use the Water Alarm to detect even the smallest amounts of moisture before mold, mildew and serious water damage can occur. It can be placed near bath tubs, toilets, beneath sinks, or it can be used as a basement water alarm for early notification of flooding or leaky pipes. Most problems start with a small leak and grow to a disastrous water flow. Use the water alarm to detect those small leaks before it has a chance to get out of control

The water alarms are loud enough to be heard throughout the house, and can detect the slightest amount of moisture. They are very easy to use, and you can place them anywhere in the hose. They are easy to assemble and just require a battery and are only required to be changed once a year.

I contacted this company because I had been looking for a product that would notify us when we have another leak in our basement. About a month ago our sump-pump wasn't working and filled our basement with about an inch of water, so we want to prevent this from happening ever again, or at least notify us when it does.

See picture below with our basement covered in paper towels trying to mop up the flood, haha.

Water Alarm not only offers water alarms but sump pump overflow warnings, as well as Flood Stop, and Freeze Alarm products. The Sump Pump warnings act as a notification for overflowing sump pumps, hot tubs, or bathtubs. They easily attach to the bottom of the Water Alarm by gently sliding the open end of each connector on the bottom of the Water Alarm, and another great thing is that they come with a 1 year warranty.

This would have been a great product to have BEFORE our basement became a swimming pool.

These water alarm products have been so helpful, and really help put my mind at ease. I don't have to run down and check the basement everytime it rains, and I don't
have to check under all the sinks for leaks on a weekly basis.

To win: I am offering one of my reader's a Water Alarm to try for themselves!

STRETCH & COVER SLIPCOVER REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

Stretch & Cover offers expandable slipcovers for a variety of upholstered sofas, chairs, loveseats and more. Designed to fit snugly and securely, our designer slipcovers can bring new life to your worn furnishings and cost substantially less than purchasing a replacement piece or paying for new upholstery. Made of stretchable fibers that form fit for an aesthetically pleasing look, Stretch & Cover slipcovers can give you a custom upholstered feel at an unbelievable price.

Stretch & Cover's slipcovers are much more snug and tight fitting than other slip covers I've seen and used in the past. They stay in place and don't bunch when you sit down. It is a relief to not worry about the material getting crinkly or wadding up in weird places. It doesn't look like "dorm furniture" as my husband put it; it looks like a classy new sofa.

...and Stretch & Cover is running sale right now to promote their new line: 25% discount on all seat and back cushion covers. Just enter CUSH0909 at checkout to apply this discount.

They have a slipcover for just about everything. I had a chance to review the small couch slipcover in birch, which is a light tan color. Our family room has dark gray/blue walls, and beautifull re-finished red pine floors so we needed to lighten up the room...our dark brown couch wasn't cutting it, but the slipcover made a world of difference!

Do you like what you see?

You can buy one here, and use their buying guide to determine which is the right slipcover for your specific furniture:
