I recently had the chance to try the Air-O-Swiss 7133 Warm and Cool Mist Humidifier, and it's fantastic. When we bought this house back in June we knew that the humidifier in the heating system didn't work, but we never imagined we would be waking up every morning with dry scratchy throats that linger through the day. It wasn't fun. Thankfully Air-O-Swiss generously offered to send me a humidifier to try out, see below:

Humidification System
This ultrasonic humidifier uses high-frequency vibrations to turn water into a micro-fine mist. The AOS 7133 Ultrasonic Humidifier gives you the option to disperse either cool or warm mist; send a cool mist into the room or choose the pre-heating function and dispense mist at a comfortable 104 °F. A replaceable demineralization cartridge (Ag+ Ionic Silver Technology) ensures water mist without lime scale or mineral residues, and the AIR-O-SWISS quad-band water protection system inhibits microbial growth in the water of your humidifier. This is particularly important when the humidifier is not used for some time with water remaining in the base.

It was so easy to put together. All I had to do was soak the filter in water for 24 hours, fill up the tank (as you can see it easily lifts off the base), reattach it and turn it on. I like this because it gives you the choice of warm or cool mist. It also gives you the option to choose how much mist comes out. You could make it more sparse or a larger amount of humidity and mist.
