Home Renovation/Reorganization Series - Air O Swiss Humidifier

I recently had the chance to try the Air-O-Swiss 7133 Warm and Cool Mist Humidifier, and it's fantastic. When we bought this house back in June we knew that the humidifier in the heating system didn't work, but we never imagined we would be waking up every morning with dry scratchy throats that linger through the day. It wasn't fun. Thankfully Air-O-Swiss generously offered to send me a humidifier to try out, see below:

Here's some information on this product...

Humidification System
This ultrasonic humidifier uses high-frequency vibrations to turn water into a micro-fine mist. The AOS 7133 Ultrasonic Humidifier gives you the option to disperse either cool or warm mist; send a cool mist into the room or choose the pre-heating function and dispense mist at a comfortable 104 °F. A replaceable demineralization cartridge (Ag+ Ionic Silver Technology) ensures water mist without lime scale or mineral residues, and the AIR-O-SWISS quad-band water protection system inhibits microbial growth in the water of your humidifier. This is particularly important when the humidifier is not used for some time with water remaining in the base.

Comfort and ClimateHumidifies the air in rooms up to 650 sq ft (60m2)
Make the choice of cool or warm (104 °F (40 °C)) humidification
• Ambient temperature is not cooled down
• Improved system keeps the water clean
Powerful and replaceable demineralization cartridge with silver treated housing (Ag+ Ionic Silver Technology)
Water and Hygiene

Quad-band water quality protection:
The patented Ionic Silver Stick®, the cornerstone of our protection system, uses aqueous silver ions to control microbial growth for up to one year of continuous use
The ultrasonic system, with its high-frequency vibrations, destroys most bacteria and viruses
Pre-heating the water to 176° F (80° C) eliminates bacteria and viruses
The plastic housing of the demineralization cartridge is treated with silver (Ag+ Ionic Silver Technology) inhibiting microbial growth on its surface
Energy and Performance
Built-in hygrostat for controlled humidification
Mist output control (variable)
Very energy-efficient
Ultra-quiet operation
Special Features
Modern design with empty indicator
Transparent water tank (water level clearly visible)
Industrial strength titanium membrane surface, the quality of which guarantees fast dispersion of mist into the air, ensures long lasting use
Easy to clean and use

It was so easy to put together. All I had to do was soak the filter in water for 24 hours, fill up the tank (as you can see it easily lifts off the base), reattach it and turn it on. I like this because it gives you the choice of warm or cool mist. It also gives you the option to choose how much mist comes out. You could make it more sparse or a larger amount of humidity and mist.
