This is your typical Christian historical romance. While being somewhat predictable it is an easy summer read, and of course, there are the charming elements that you love about stories like this, such as characters that you love or love to hate. The book has Christian principles which is always nice, and keeps the novel clean of bad words or "smut", but the best part are the characters. The main character Elena was pretty likable. She tries really hard to make her parents proud and to be a proper lady. But, on the inside she just wants to be free...just a true heroine in hiding. :)
