Ann H. Gabhart is the bestselling author of several novels, including Angel Sister, The Outsider, The Believer, The Seeker and The Blessed. She lives with her husband a mile from where she was born in Kentucky.
I've enjoyed everything I've read by Ann H. Gabhart, and The Gifted is just as terrific as Ann's previous Harmony Hill books. The plot of this book was pretty interesting. A young girl whose father takes off and her mother dies at childbirth so she is given to the grandmother to raise, and later brought into the Shaker community posing many differences to the lifestyle she knew before. I believe the author, Ann Gabhart, is showing us an insight into the Shaker culture and community, without encouraging the reader to hold to those same beliefs
