    MY THOUGHTS:
    I've changed a handful of diapers in my lifetime, and I can honestly say that changing them on a contoured changing pad is so much easier than on a flat surface. In addition to the safety buckles to keep baby from squirming off the changing table, the raised sides help keep baby in place while changing the diaper. In addition it's a soft, cushioned surface. Seeing as baby will spend a LOT of time being changed each day, it's nice to have a soft spot to do so.
