Bake for the Cure #1

I was asked to take part in Bake for the Cure, and I am so excited about this opportunity. Each week, from today through Oct 18th, 2010 I will be posting two recipes (with photos) as part of this great campaign. Feel free to post on each post with any comments! (The more comments I get, the better chance I have to win a $500 kitchen product gift card)

Bake for the Cure® is supporting breast cancer with a love for cooking:

ACH Foods has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the fight against breast cancer with the intention of building awareness, support, and interest in the cause by providing visitors with a baking forum dedicated to all things pink. Bake for the Cure® is all about reaching out to your fellow recipe connoisseurs for a greater purpose.

ACH Foods knows what the unity of many can do; their brands have come together and donated over $1million to the breast cancer cause. What the ACH brands have achieved proves that the unity of many goes a long way. The free online community of recipes, stories, and support behind Bake for the Cure® is going into battle in the fight against breast cancer with an apron and a spatula. So, c'mon, grab the nearest frying pan and join our infantry!

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with her heart, body and soul. Throughout her diagnosis, treatments, and endless days in the hospital, she spent her time thinking of ways to make life better for other women battling breast cancer instead of worrying about her own situation. That concern for others continued even as Susan neared the end of her fight. Moved by Susan's compassion for others and committed to making a difference, Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.

That promise is now Susan G. Komen For the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested nearly $1.5 billion since inception in 1982. As the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, Susan G. Komen is working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, and generous contributions from partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, Susan G. Komen has become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
