Romance/Getaway Series - Split Rock Resort

Split Rock Resort & Golf Club is a four season family resort situated on 125 acre Lake Harmony, in the western region of the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Split Rock Resort & Golf Club's 1,200+ acres are easily accessible, located only 4 miles from Exit 277 of Interstate 80 and exit 95 of the NE Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Wilkes-Barre International and Lehigh Valley International Airports are only 30 and 50 minutes away respectively. Airport shuttle service can be arranged.

This quiet and pristine "four season" resort is surrounded by thousands of acres of mountain scenery including forests, lakes and streams that can be explored on skis, bikes, boats or on foot. We are just one tank of gas and a phone call away.

One of the main attractions at Split Rock Resort is the indoor water park called H20ooohh! The water park includes the KOMODO DRAGON - Pennsylvania's 1st Indoor Flow Rider. It also has the VIPER, PIRANHA and AMAZON BLAST Slides, which drop 4 stories. Those looking for refreshing relaxation will enjoy the LAVA SPRINGS hot tubs. The little ones will have a great time at the JUNGLE FALLS & LEAPIN' LIZARDS play areas.
The water park IS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
Overnight accommodations are not required for use of the water park

I had a chance to stay at this resort, and was very impressed with all that this resort has to offer. First, we stayed in a suite which had a full kitchen. Imagine how much money you could save by cooking in the suite versus going out to eat. This is a great feature for a large family who is trying to save money where they can.

Secondly, the room had a balcony which was so nice. You can sit outside and watch the sun set, or curl up with a great book.

Third, they have an activity for everyone - golf, swimming, tennis, mini golf, boccie ball, beaching, boating, archery, bowling, movie theater, spa, ice cream parlor, arcade, skiing, ice skating, & snow tubing (seasonal) gym and fitness center, on-site restaurants and bars, pool tables and more. It's a whole town packed into one beautiful remote setting.

Fourth, it's not a long trip from NYC, Harrisburg, Philly, Camden and Baltimore.

I had a chance to experience several things while here - the Galleria Restaurant, the water park, the spa, the daily planned activities, the ice cream parlor ,and the Movie Theater. Although I was not impressed with the food at the restaurant, that was the only thing that did not impress me about this resort. The Water Park is large and I was mesmerized by the surfing pool where people, young and old, tried their hardest to remain on the surfboard. . . definitely an experience. The spa was very relaxing and much needed! I had a 30 minute head, shoulders, back, arms and hands massage and both of the women working at the spa were very polite and professional and did a fantastic job. The amount of activities that are planned each day for guests is vast from scheduled Uno games, morning jogs, to off-site excursions. Of course, I had to try the ice cream while there, along with a movie . . . it's perfect for a date night.

So... How would I rate this?

Location: While it's not within a short drive to any major cities, the resort has everything you could want, so there isn't a need to leave the resort grounds. I would give it 4.5 stars.
Attractions/Activities: With so much to do, I would give this 5 stars
Spa: Reasonably priced, large selection, and excellent customer service, I would give the spa 5 stars.

Restaurant: I was not highly impressed with the restaurant, but their prices were very reasonable, and guests have the option to charge meals/activities to the room which is nice, so I would give it 3.5 stars.
Customer Service: Everyone employee we spoke with or dealt with was very polite and courteous, so I would give the customer service 5 stars.
