Romance/Getaway Series - Spat's Cafe

While out in the Penn State Area reviewing a local hotel, I had the chance to meet up with a friend at the Spat's Cafe. According to their webiste, they offer the best of New Orleans (pronounced N'Awlins or New Oy-uns if you're local). Serving the best traditional Cajun and Creole foods.
The ambiance of the restaurant was fun and made you feel like you were in Louisiana. Sitting down you notice that the silverware wrapped in mardi gras beads, which just adds to the cultural flare. When looking through the menu there are a plethora of options to choose from from seafood to meet from spicy to tame, but we decided to give these two items a try: Almond-crusted Chicken & Sweet Potato-crusted Catfish.

(almond crusted chicken)
(sweet potato-crusted catfish)
These dishes were absolutely delicious. Mine was in a light sauce that brought out the flavors of the chicken. It had a sweet crunch taste which I thoroughly enjoyed. My friend had never had catfish before, and wasn't sure what to expect, but she was pleasantly surprised!
