Romance/Getaway Series - Parkway Restaurant

About the Restaurant (from their website):
Proprietor and Executive Chef, Dana Banks, now heading the kitchen, invites you to dine at The Parkway Restaurant in Bethany Beach, Delaware!

The Parkway opened in June, 1997 - owner, manager Dana Banks is always on premise to insure consistency and quality of food and service. Dana's influence of Hawaiian Regional and Pacific Rim Cuisine reflects in the current menu of traditional fine dining including Steak, Crab cakes & Seafood.

The Parkway has been serving fine cuisine for over ten years. The Parkway is open year-round and offers in-house private parties, on or off premise catering. Gift certificates are available and can be handled over the phone or by e-mail. In addition to the Dinner Menu - the Parkway has a lite-fare menu, full bar and children are welcomed.

I came across this restaurant when planning a visit to Bethany Beach, DE and loved the sound of this restaurant with it's selection of filet mignon, crab cakes, lamb and other assorted meals and desserts. After contacting the owner, Dana Banks, she generously invited us to come and visit the restaurant, and I am so glad she did!

My meal consisted of filet mignon with a cherry demi-glaze sauce, green beans, and mashed potatoes. The steak was seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. Growing up I hated eating steaks because I had to work so hard to eat it, but this piece of meat was so tender, it practically melted in my mouth and the glaze was a perfect compliment to the filet.

My husband ordered the "special" which was an AMAZING deal, and I was tempted to do the same. This special (entree pictured above, dessert below) included a choice of salad, filet mignon, crab cake, mashed potatoes, green beans and white chocolate creme brulee for dessert, and all for $30. My husband was in heaven - steak, seafood AND dessert, as I don't make red meat often, and he has quite the sweet tooth, so this was the perfect meal for him!

The restaurant itself is deceptively large. From the outside it looks like a charming little place, but once you walk in, you realize just how large this restaurant is, and it's size is perfect for these events: Rehearsal dinners, Birthday celebrations , Family reunions , Anniversaries, Wedding Receptions. If you are looking for a great place to eat while visiting Bethany Beach, or if you are local to this area, definitely check out the Parkway Restaurant. You won't be disappointed!
