Idina Menzel

I first learned about Idina Menzel, and amazing artist, actor, and Broadway extraordinaire who writes and performs her own music, in 2005 when I went to go see RENT the movie with my now husband. Idina played Maureen in this movie, a powerful, seductive young woman. I was blown away by her voice. Then in 2007 I went to see a performance of Wicked the musical and fell in love with is. After buying the soundtrack, I realized that Idina was in the original cast as Elphaba, the "bad" witch. From that point on I fell in love with the soundtrack of Wicked the Musical, and with Idina's voice. More recently she has appeared on the hit TV show "GLEE," which I also enjoy, and recently just this week I found a few of her newer songs online, and again I am awestruck with the power of her voice; It's beautiful. I love this song called "I Stand" and the lyrics:

Disclaimer: I did not receive anything for this post, I am just impressed with her voice and talent
