But I am neither. I am simply a watcher of Israel
and the messenger of El Shaddai.
When He speaks to me in dreams, I interpret. When He whispers a melody, I sing.
I've been a fan of all of Mesu's books that I've read so far. You can tell she puts so much time into researching the characters, the time, the customs, the locations and the history in general. She doesn't just tell you about the people and the plot, but she brings you into their time and location with all the details. From the attire of each character to the washing customs, she includes it all, so you can really know what the characters were experiencing. It's just one of the things I enjoy so much about Mesu's books. And while I had a harder time getting into this book, it was still an enjoyable read. I should probably mention here that the reason for my difficulty was not the writing, but that we recently got a newborn baby added to out family with only a few days notice, so things were hectic for a few weeks while we adjusted, leaving very little time (or energy, thanks to middle of the night feedings again!) for reading. It's hard to really enjoy a book and crave more when you read the first chapter one week, and the second a week later and so on and so forth.
Thanks to Blogging for Books & BFF of Mesu, I received a copy of Miriam and the opportunity to provide an honest review. All the opinions I have expressed are my own.
