Holiday Hoopla - DXG Luxe Camcorder
The latest fashion in consumer electronics is the couture camcorder from DXG, garnering early attention from celebrities such as Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Constance Zimmer and Julie Delpy. The DXG Luxe Collection is a new line of high definition digital camcorders designed with chic patterns, stylish details and matching cases that look and feel like couture clutch bags, yet record in high definition and retail for $149.99.
Available August 3 from www.dxgusa.com, the DXG Luxe Collection marries fashion and electronics for busy moms, trend-setting teens and fashionistas of any age. The DXG-Riviera features a chic, quilted pattern with silver or bronze details and crystal accents in three colors that will indulge your inner diva – pink, white or black. The DXG-Soho comes in a hip pink or blue argyle pattern with stylish leather accents. Not sacrificing substance for style, both models record video in true high definition (720p), take vibrant 8-megapixel still photos, can capture up to 8 hours of video using a 16GB card, and feature a 3-inch LCD screen—all on a compact form factor only1½-inches thick.
Some Specs:
Dimensions: 4.3” (W) x 1.6” (D) x 2.6” (H), 8 ounces
LCD: 3” TFT Display Storage: Built in 32MB, SD slot for expandable memory up to 16GB
Video Resolution: 1280 x 720/30fps
Still Photo: 8 megapixel
Power Supply: 4-AAA batteries
Zoom: 3X digital zoom (video and still) Color Effects: Color, black and white, sepia
My Thoughts:
With this chic and stylish design, it's not only fun to carry around, but is also easy to operate, which is a plus for people who are not as technically savvy, which I am not. This camcorder takes still photos and videos with fairly good quality. With a 3x zoom you are limited in what you can shoot, but for the price and the specs, it's a good camera.
My only qualm with this camcorder is that it sucks the life out of batteries very quickly. To fix this, I intend on buying rechargeable batteries, but if you don't, you may be spending a lot of money on regular batteries to keep this running.

Holiday Hoopla - Crabtree & Evelyn
Founded in 1972 by Cyrus Harvey, Crabtree & Evelyn has evolved from a small, family-run business – specializing in fine soaps from around the world – to an international company, well known and respected for its original fragrances, luxurious toiletries, gourmet foods - and gifts for those who enjoy a sophisticated lifestyle. Long before the natural and wellness movement became popular, Crabtree & Evelyn was wholeheartedly embracing the riches of the natural world, introducing product ranges made with fruit, flower and plant essences. We are dedicated to creating products and gifts that transform the ordinary rituals of daily life into extraordinary pleasurable experiences.
They now have a 2010 Holiday Line featuring:
· Noël® and Windsor Forest® decorative home fragrance
· Pomegranate, Vanilla and Windsor Forest festive body care
· Beautiful Gifts in our perennially favourite ranges
· Fine Foods
One of my favorite products from this line is the Windsor Forest Scent, which smells like Christmas trees. Since my husband is allergic to pine-type trees we have a fake tree, but I miss that authentic tree smell, so this is a great solution to that problem.
